I am now a 3nd-year student at Loyola University in the windy city of Chicago, IL. I am studying Computer Science, with Mathematics and History minors.
My current course-load:
I attended classes at Grand Rapids Community College two summers in a row while at Catholic Central. It was fantastic, and I am happy to say that I achieved a 4.0 cumulative GPA there, earning 10.0 credits.
I learned much in Multivariable Calculus, but the other two didn't really help me. Most of the material taught in those classes could easily be gleaned from the books that I had been checking out from the library since 7th grade or so.
Still, I would definitely recommend taking some summer classes during high school if you have the opportunity. It's nice to have that little head-start before actually attending college as a full-time student.
Catholic Central, the oldest co-educational Catholic high school in America, is where I went to high school—right in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, MI.
I took the garden variety of classes there, including a few AP classes. I thought it was an excellent high school, and prepared me very well for my future college career. In fact, it may have prepared me too well. Upon coming to college, I found that many of my fellow classmates knew few of the skills that would have been commonly taught at CC.
